HOW THIS STARTED
Raleigh parent
texts, 2025–2026
One Raleigh parent, way too many browser tabs. No sign-up, no ads, no rankings. If I got something wrong, tell me — I'd rather fix it.
Questions, answered.
FAQIs this affiliated with Wake County Public Schools?
No. This is an independent guide built by a parent. All official applications, enrollments, and decisions still happen through WCPSS, charter, or private school websites. We just help you understand what's possible.
Why not just use the WCPSS website?
WCPSS has the official data, but it's organized by their categories, not by how parents actually make decisions. We reorganize the same facts around questions like “what are my options” and “what happens if I pick this” — plus we include charters and private schools, which WCPSS obviously doesn't cover.
How do you keep the information up to date?
Every page shows a "last verified" date. Deadlines, themes, and priorities are reviewed each August before the application cycle opens, with mid-year updates when WCPSS changes anything material. Source links let you verify anything yourself.
Do you recommend specific schools?
No. No star ratings, no rankings, no "best of" lists. The right school depends on your child and your family — we give you the facts and the pathways, you make the call.
Can I contribute or correct something?
Yes. Every page has a "suggest an edit" link. The project is open about its sources and corrections are welcome — especially from teachers, administrators, and parents with firsthand information.
