Submit the Choice Application through WCPSS for magnets, year-round, and specialty programs. Late applications go into Round 2 if any seats remain.

Pre-register at your base elementary. Base assignment is automatic by address — no choice application is needed unless you want to apply to a magnet or year-round school.

Dec 12, 2026 Early College / Leadership Academy / Crossroads FLEX applications close High priority
Submit Early College, Leadership Academy, and Crossroads FLEX applications. These programs run on an earlier timeline than the main magnet Choice window.

WCPSS emails results for all Choice applications. Check your MyWakeID inbox; responses are typically due within a week.

Mar 1, 2027 – Mar 12, 2027 Round 2 magnet application window Note
Apply to magnets with remaining seats after Round 1. Only select magnets participate — the list is published when Round 2 opens.

Mar 1, 2027 – Mar 12, 2027 Transfer request period Note
Request a transfer to a different base school. Results are emailed within 7–10 business days; an appeal window follows for denials.
